Fernie Freestyle Job Postings

Looking for qualify Freestyle Canada and Snowboard Canada Coaches. Min certs required is Freestyle Canada Fundamendalz or Comp Intro from Snowboard Canada In-Training status. All coaches would need to complete NCCP modules Making Ethical Decisions, Safe-Sport, Making Headway and a Police Record check to go along with their Freestyle BC/Snowboard Canada Membership 2024-2025 membership. Fernie Freestyle offers a season pass to all FULL-TIME coaches and very competitive wages depended on your certification and experience levels. We are looking to hire in all areas including lead positions.

Contracts start Dec 1 running till April 15.  Min commitment of 1 day but plenty of 2 day contracts and mid-week work is available for the right coach.  Our growing club is young and boost a 250+ membership and growing fast. We compete in the Freestyle BC circuit at the Regional, Timber Tour, Canada Cup and IFSA Big Mountain Events.

Fernie is our training/playground and boost up to 30 feet of snow per year. Our club has a private Slopestyle/Mogul course for exclusive use, and we can build what we want and we have some of the best big mountain terrain around with skiing Fernie Alpine Resort on a daily bases.

 

HIRING:

Performance Mogul Coach(12+): Working with our Performance Mogul focus athletes in a competitive environment coaching min 2 days/week with some option of 2-3 mid-week training/trampoline and course work plus attending events at the Regional/Timber Tour/Canada Cup Level. Part of the job would include continuous maintenance of the mogul course during the week to have it ready each weekend for training.  Looking for a min Air 4 certificate coach who has taken their mogul coaching course at a min.  FC comp intro certified coach is a preference with min 2 years coaching experience in Moguls or a former high performance athlete an asset.   Wages will depend on experience and certification.

Performance Slope Coach(12+):  Working with our Performance Slope focus athletes in a competitive environment coaching min 2 days/week with some option of 2-3 mid-week training/trampoline and course work plus attending events at the Regional/Timber Tour/Canada Cup Level.  Part of the job would include continuous maintenance of our park during the week to have it ready each weekend for training.  Looking for a min Air 4 certificate coach who has taken their park and pipe coaching course at a min.  FC comps intro certified coach is a preference with min 2 years coaching experience in Slopestyle or a former high performance athlete an asset. Wages will depend on experience and certification.

Performance Big Mountain Coach(12+):  Working with our Big Mtn IFSA athletes.  Min requirements is your Fundamendalz and IFSA L100 Coaching Cert.  Coach will work 2 days + a week and be able to attend IFSA events that the coach targets within the Regional 2 and 3 levels that are pre set at the start of the year.  Coach will have a strong technical background in skiing and understand the IFSA system.  Coach must have 2 years coaching experience or come from a high performance background in IFSA Big Mountain competition.  Wages will depend on experience and certification.

Freestylerz Coaches(8 and Up): Working with our development athletes 1-2 days a week with introducing them to competition and training in all areas of freestyle.  Must have taken the Freestyle Canada Fundmentalz course or willing to take the course before the season starts. Coaching/Athlete Freestyle experience an asset.

Funstylerz Coaches(6-8): Working with our fundamentalz development athletes 1-2 days a week with introducing them to all areas of freestyle.  Training blocks are 3 hours and we run programs Fri PM, Sat and Sun all day.  There will be competition options as well for the Funz athletes.  Must have taken the Freestyle Canada Fundmentalz course or willing to take the course before the season starts. Coaching/Athlete Freestyle experience an asset.

Snowboard Coaches(6 and Up): Working with our performance or development athletes 1-2 days a week with introducing them to competition and training in all areas of snowboard freestyle from Jumps, Rails, Big Mtn and Boardercross.  Must have taken the Canada Snowboard Comp Into course and min be in training or willing to take the course before the season starts. Coaching/Athlete Freestyle experience an asset.
