FERNIE FREESTYLE CLUB

Moguls, Slope and Big Mountain

Volunteering With Fernie Freestyle

At Fernie Freestyle, we believe in creating a complete and meaningful experience for every athlete — one that includes learning, training, competing, growing confidence, and most importantly, having fun.

To support this goal, our club relies on the involvement of our families. Fernie Freestyle has always been powered by parents and community members who lend their time, enthusiasm, and skills to help us deliver exceptional programs and unforgettable experiences for our athletes.

We ask every family to volunteer in some capacity throughout the year. Truly… every little bit helps. Your support ensures our athletes have safe training facilities, successful competitions, and a welcoming, connected community. It’s also a great way to meet other freestyle families and feel part of something special.

Ways Families Can Help Throughout the Year

There are several opportunities to contribute, including:

Competitions

We are planning to host a Timber Tour event, a Regional competition, and club-level events this season. These require a large volunteer team for both on-snow and off-snow roles.
We’ll send out club-wide calls for help — watch for these!

Club Social Events

Assist with planning or supporting fun community events for athletes, parents, and coaches.

Fundraising & Sponsorship

Support club initiatives such as raffles, community fundraising, sponsorship outreach, silent auctions, or helping deliver ideas that keep program costs low and quality high.

Course Support

Occasional help maintaining and improving training environments such as the air site or mogul course.

Airbag Steering Committee

We are working hard toward building Fernie’s airbag training facility — a big project that needs passionate people behind it.

Board of Directors & Director Support

Board positions open every year, and any club member can express interest.
Roles include:

  • Board of Directors (various roles) – leadership, planning, and decision-making

  • Board Assistants – supporting board members and learning about club operations

  • Director at Large roles – helping with special projects or areas of need

If you have a talent, skill, or interest you’d like to contribute, please reach out: ferniefreestyleclub@gmail.com

Club-Wide Fundraising Campaigns

Each year we run an annual raffle, and every family is asked to sell:

  • One book of tickets per athlete, or

  • Two books per family with multiple athletes

Prize details and ticket pricing are shared during the registration process.
If you can secure or donate a prize, we’d love to hear from you!

We do not track volunteer hours or enforce a monetary obligation — we simply emphasize that our club’s success depends on everyone pitching in however they can.
If you’re unsure where to help, the best question to ask is:

“How can I help?”

Volunteer Requirements for Safety

Because we work with youth, we require the following for all volunteers:

Information will be sent closer to events.

Thank You

We’re incredibly grateful for the strength of our Fernie Freestyle community. Your support makes our club what it is — a place where athletes learn, grow, and fall in love with skiing for life.

We’re excited for a fantastic season ahead and look forward to working with your family!
